<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-resonant two-photon absorption recording material, which can perform non-resonant two-photon absorption recording by use of a recording light in a wavelength region shorter than 700 nm, and which has sufficient recording and reproducing characteristics; and to provide a non-resonant two-photon absorption compound usable therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The non-resonant two-photon absorption recording material includes (a) non-resonant two-photon absorption compound, and (b) a recording component of which at least one of a refractive index and a fluorescence intensity varies, and (a) non-resonant two-photon absorption compound is expressed by a general formula (1). In the formula, X and Y represent each substitution group of which Hammett sigma para value (σp value) has a value equal to or larger than 0, n is an integer of 1 to 4, R is a substitution group, and m is an integer of 0 to 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
