<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication method of compact and low-cost wireless communication equipment stably communicating with a radio tag regardless of the kind of an amplitude modulation system. <P>SOLUTION: A preamble waveform storage means 51 is provided for storing, as preamble waveform data to be added to a head of a baseband signal, waveform data having an inclination of a sine wave having a frequency of which the point of variation between high level and low level corresponds to a modulation system in a modulator. A preamble reading section 42 reads the preamble waveform data from the preamble waveform storage means 51.
