摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a computing load when deciding a target vehicle having possibility of colliding with one's own vehicle from other vehicles present around the own vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a control target vehicle decision device, a communication means loaded in the vehicle, communicating with the outside of the vehicle includes: an inter-vehicle communication means M1 performing communication between the own vehicle and the other vehicle; and a road-vehicle communication means M2 performing communication between the own vehicle and roadside equipment. Only when specifying an other vehicle position on a map of the own vehicle based on a comparatively low-accuracy other vehicle position obtained by the inter-vehicle communication means M1, map matching processing is performed by an other vehicle map matching processing means M8. When specifying the other vehicle position on the map of the own vehicle based on a comparatively high-accuracy other vehicle position obtained by the road-vehicle communication means M2, the other vehicle position on the map of the own vehicle is specified with high accuracy to properly decide the target vehicle while suppressing the map matching processing to the minimum to reduce the computing load because not performing the map matching processing by use of a coordinate conversion means M9.
