<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing particles (hollow particle precursor) suitable for obtaining hollow particles having a small particle diameter in the comparison with conventional hollow particles and to provide a method for stably producing the hollow particles having the small particle diameter as compared with the conventional hollow particles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the particles is characterized by having a first step of preparing soluble core particles having a 50% cumulative particle diameter of 90 nm or less by crushing and dispersing a soluble core particle raw material with a medium dispersion means under the coexistence of a dispersant and a second step of preparing coated particles where the soluble core particles are coated with a thin film mainly composed of silica.
