<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of preventing the degradation of the quality of images for diagnosing and reducing burdens on a subject. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The X-ray CT apparatus includes: a top plate for mounting the subject; a rotation part to be rotated around the subject mounted on the top plate; a top plate moving means for moving the top plate to the center area of the rotation part; an X-ray generation means loaded on the rotation part, for irradiating the subject with X-rays; a data gathering means loaded on the rotation part, for detecting the X-rays transmitted through the subject and gathering projection data; a center determination means for determining the first center of a diagnostic object part on a first slice surface and a second center of the diagnostic object part on a second slice surface on the basis of scanner images on the two slice surfaces orthogonal to a rotary axis at two predetermined positions separated in the direction of the rotary axis of the rotation part; and a top plate position adjustment means for moving the top plate so as to match the first center and the second center with the rotary axis of the rotation part.
