<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing which has improved appearance and quality and has various combinations of colors of patterns and fundamental colors, and to provide a method of making the housing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The housing 100 includes a transparent substrate 10 which includes opposed two surfaces 102, 104 and on one surface of which is coated with a photosensitizer; an electroplated coating 14 which is partially covered with the surface 104 of the substrate 10, coated with the photosensitizer, to form a pattern thereon; an electrophoretic coating 16 formed on a surface of the electric plating layer 14; and a paint coating 12, formed on the other surface 102 of the base 10.
