PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to compensate a step existing between a light blocking tape and a liquid crystal panel using a protecting film. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(100) comprises a light source and an optical sheet. The optical sheet applies light of the light source to a liquid crystal panel. A light blocking tape(148) is attached to the edge side of the optical sheet in order to prevent movement and light leakage of the backlight unit. A stepped difference compensation film(150) is located between a lower polarizing plate and the light blocking tape. The stepped difference compensation compensates a step generated between the light blocking tape and the lower polarizing plate. |
