<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system improving conversion efficiency of NOx by disposing a second catalyst producing reducing gas including H<SB>2</SB>by production of aromatic hydrocarbon and a dehydrogenation reaction in an upstream side of an NOx trap catalyst disposed in an exhaust passage, and effectively using the reducing gas. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust emission control system 100 disposing a first catalyst 34 eliminating NOx in exhaust emission in the exhaust passage 3 of an internal combustion engine (a system body 1), the second catalyst 33 producing aromatic hydrocarbon from hydrocarbon in the exhaust is equipped in an upstream side of the first catalyst 34, and a gas supplying means (e.g., a fuel injection valve 11 or the like) for supplying gas containing paraffin HC of C6 or more and/or olefin HC of C6 or more is equipped in the second catalyst 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
