<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing chlorine excellently continuing oxidation reaction even when hydrogen chloride containing a sulfur component is used. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing chlorine by supplying hydrogen chloride containing the sulfur component and oxygen to a reaction tube 1 provided with a catalyst packed layer 10 and oxidizing the hydrogen chloride, the catalyst packed layer 10 has an alumina-mixed catalyst packed layer 20 obtained by mixing a catalyst 3 with alumina (a diluting agent 4), wherein the alumina has 10-500 m<SP>2</SP>/g BET specific surface area and is preferablyγ-alumina and/orθ-alumina. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
