<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for forming a ventilation passage achieving a high material yield. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Cuts oriented inward from side ends are formed in the left/right side sections of a rectangular plate 15, the side sections defined by the cuts are bent in one vertical direction to form a height setting piece 14 having a free end brought into contact with a roof inner face or a wall inner face to set the height of the ventilation passage, and the other side sections defined by the cuts are bent in the other vertical direction to form an attaching piece 13 installed on a vertical frame member.
