摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect the occurrence of a pinhole in an electrolyte membrane, provided on an electrochemical cell used in an electrochemical device, separately from other failures. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell stack in which each single cell as an electrochemical device is laminated; a resistance sensor for measuring a cell resistance of each single cell; a voltage sensor for measuring a cell voltage of each single cell; and a control unit for controlling the fuel cell system. A CPU of the control unit synchronously and sequentially acquires a cell resistance of each single cell and each value of a cell voltage so as to calculate a rate of change with time &Delta;R/&Delta;t of the cell resistance and a rate of change with time &Delta;V/&Delta;t of the cell voltage respectively. When the &Delta;R/&Delta;t changes from positive to negative, and the &Delta;V/&Delta;t also changes from negative to positive, the CPU determines that a pinhole occurs in an electrolyte membrane of a membrane-electrode assembly provided in each single cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
