<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the deformation of MEA 1 and the deviation of GDLs, in a sealing structure in which the MEA 1 is sandwiched by gaskets 8, 9 respectively integrated on separators 6, 7 which are arranged on the both sides of the MEA 1 in the thickness direction through the GDLs. <P>SOLUTION: In the sealing structure, first GDLs 2, 3, second GDLs 4, 5, and the separators 6, 7 are sequentially laminated on the both sides of the MEA 1 in the thickness direction, and on the outside of the first GDLs 2, 3 and the second GDLs 4, 5, an end 1a of the MEA 1 is sandwiched by the gaskets 8, 9 made from a rubber or a synthetic-resin material with rubber-like elasticity, the gaskets 8, 9 being respectively integrated on the separators 6, 7 arranged on the both sides of the MEA 1 in the thickness direction. Ends 2a, 3a of the first GDLs 2, 3 are formed so as to project from the perimeters of the second GDLs 4, 5. The ends 2a, 3a of the first GDL 2, 3 can be positioned relative to the gaskets 8, 9.
