<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage box capable of preventing the entry of rainwater thereinto. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This storage box 1 is provided with a base member 2 with an opening, a lid 3 for opening and closing the opening, a hinge 4 for pivotably joining the lid 3 to the base member 2, a lock member 5 for holding the lid 3 which has closed the opening, and a backrest 6 attached to one surface of the lid 3. The storage box 1 is mounted rearward of a seat on a saddle riding type vehicle. The storage box 1 is provided with a cover body 12 for covering an upper surface 3c of the lid 3. The backrest 6 is bonded to a forward end wall 3b of the lid 3 by using an adhesive member.
