<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protecting airbag device capable of securing a protective area at the completion of inflation vertically widely as much as possible, and capable of generating strong tension approximately along a lower edge side in the longitudinal direction when the inflation of an airbag is completed. <P>SOLUTION: In the head protecting airbag device M, the airbag 19 includes a bag body 20, and a tension belt 37 disposed at the front edge side of the bag body 20. The tension belt 37 includes a body belt 38 disposed approximately along the longitudinal direction and an auxiliary belt 43 extended from a part in the vicinity of the lower end of the bag body 20 and connected to the intermediate part of the body belt 38 at its tip side. In the auxiliary belt 43, the linear dimension of the airbag 19 at the completion of expansion is made to be shorter than a distance from a connected part with the bag body 20 to a connected part with the body belt 38 in a straight line in a flatly deployed state of the bag body 20 and the body belt 38. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
