<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily electrolyzing an oxide of a group II element. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of electrolyzing the oxide of the group II element, a negative electrode capable of occluding and releasing ion of the group II element and a positive electrode containing the oxide of the group II element and a compound having a stable radical skeleton (for example, 2, 2, 6, 6-tetra methyl piperidoxyl radical (TEMPO radical)) are arranged separately from each other in a non-aqueous ion conductive body. Next, the oxide of the group II element in the positive electrode is electrolyzed by applying DC voltage between electrodes to be deposited on the negative electrode.
