PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately execute defrosting of a cooler in an initial defrosting cycle, after a power supply is input by a low-cost and simple configuration, without having to require time, as much as possible. SOLUTION: This refrigerator includes a setting means for setting defrosting set time in the initial defrosting cycl, e after the power supply is input as initial defrosting set time (J1 or J2), according to the temperature of the cooler sensed by a temperature-sensing means, when the power supply is input. The initial defrosting set time J1, set when the temperature of the cooler sensed by the temperature-sensing means during inputting of the power supply is lower than a predetermined temperature T ("Yes" in Step S1) is set to be shorter than the initial defrosting set time J2, set when the temperature of the cooler is higher than the predetermined temperature T ("No" in Step S1).
