PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color filter having a pixel part which gives a liquid crystal display device with a display screen having high contrast, giving clearer view, and high luminance with a brighter display screen; to provide a pigment composition or a pigment dispersant which give the color filter; and to obtain a pigment dispersant for giving the pigment composition or pigment dispersion. SOLUTION: The pigment dispersant is composed of a reaction product of: (A) an organic pigment; (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium acylate, titanium chelate and titanium alkoxide; and (C) a condensation product of polylactone, polyamine and aliphatic carboxylic acid.
