PURPOSE: An ultrasound system and a method for preventing stolen are provided to be operated in only a predetermined region, so preventing the loss of an ultrasonic system. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communications unit(110) communicates with an RF antenna in a first usage where GPS receiving is not available through a wireless communication. A storage unit(120) stores the information related to the second usage area as the range of a [coordinate value. A satellite information receiver(140) receives present position information of an ultrasound system from the GPS satellite. A controller(150) generates a control signal for confirming position information when wireless communication is not available and compares current position with the information related to the second usage region to generate a power cutoff control signal.
