<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio which enables a user to easily perform radio communication, by displaying a guide to support the positioning for making communication possible, and a method of controlling the radio communication apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The radio communication apparatus includes an antenna part for the radio communication, an imaging part for performing imaging; a display part for displaying an image picked up in the imaging part on a display screen in real time; and a guide display part for combining the guide for matching the position of the antenna of an opposite radio communication apparatus with the position of its own antenna; with a real-time display and displaying it at the display part.
