<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of a water purification system which can effectively prevent fouling and clogging of a membrane module and can perform stable filtering operation for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The operation method of a water purification system performs membrane filtration of raw water while mixing superfine bubbles into the raw water before the raw water flows into an ultrafiltration or microfiltration membrane module in a water purification system using the ultrafiltration or microfiltration membrane module. A superfine bubble generator which mixes gas into the raw water to provide high-speed shearing to mainly generate bubbles having a size of 50 μm or less may be used as a source of the superfine bubbles. Surface water is preferable as the raw water. A hollow fiber filtration membrane module is preferable as the ultrafiltration or microfiltration membrane module. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
