PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal that limits backlash of a display-side housing and a key-side housing, rotatably coupled with each other, toward an axial direction of a rotational axis. SOLUTION: A display-side housing 32 and a key-side housing 34 are rotatably coupled through a coupling mechanism 36 in a position closer to one end than a center of those in their longitudinal directions, respectively. The display-side housing 32 has a display-side fitting portion 31 at an end of a side in a longitudinal direction on which the coupling mechanism 36 is disposed. The key-side housing 34 has a first key-side fitting portion 33 at an end of a side in a longitudinal direction on which a coupling mechanism 36 is disposed, and a second key-side fitting portion 35 in a position more away from the first key-side fitting portion 33 than a position in which the coupling mechanism 36 is disposed. In a contraction condition, the display-side fitting portion 31 is fitted with the first key-side fitting portion 33, whereas in an expansion condition, the display-side fitting portion 31 is fitted with the second key-side fitting portion 35.
