<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet allowing a worker to set detection distance at an optional position simply and properly at installation site and capable of preventing the detection distance from being deviated from proper distance due to user's erroneous operation of an operation part after setting the detection distance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This automatic faucet for discharging water automatically based on detection of an object T to be detected by an optical sensor 50 is provided with a control part 42 for performing the procedures for setting detection distance of an optical sensor 50 and setting distance based on the detection of the object T to be detected as a distance setting means, a start switch 58 for starting the procedures for setting by the control part 42, and an optical display part 60 as an informing means for informing the worker of progress and situation of the procedures for setting. The start switch 58 is provided in a function part of a body, and the optical display part 60 is provided in a tip part of discharge pipe to inform the worker who works while watching the inside of a water tank of them.
