<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein an interference in a white band shape occurs when an external flash light such as flashing is emitted in a CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) imaging apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a flash light detection section for detecting flash light from the outside and outputting a detecting signal; an imaging section for outputting an imaging signal of a subject formed from a lens section; a flash light emitting section for emitting flash light; and a control section in which it is determined whether the imaging signal is affected by flash light on the basis of the detecting signal, and in the case where it is determined that the imaging signal is affected, the flash light emitting section is made to emit flash light in such predetermined timing and for such a predetermined period of time that an exposure amount due to the flash light becomes equal for all effective lines of one screen in the imaging section.
