<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen processing system for rapidly conveying a rack allowing specimen identifying information to be read even where reading failure of the identifying information arises, and a specimen container sorter used therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This specimen processing system 1 includes a specimen input device 2, measurement units 51, 51, and 51, specimen conveyors 3, 3, and 3, and a system controller 8. The input device 2 is provided with a specimen input unit 21 and a specimen check unit 22. The input unit 21 is provided with a specimen bar-code reader for reading specimen ID of an inputted specimen. Sample racks for therein storing only specimens on which specimen ID reading is normally performed are sent out to the specimen conveyor 3 while sample racks for therein storing specimens on which specimen ID reading failure has arisen are sent out to a rack storage of a specimen check unit 21.
