<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purifying catalyst which exhibits excellent purification performance even if a noble metal is not used as an essential component and to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The purifying catalyst has an average particle size of 1 nm-2 μm and contains catalyst powder consisting of a transition metal oxide shifted to the energy side lower than 531.3 eV of the binding energy of electrons of oxygen. The exhaust gas purifying catalyst has an average particle size of 1 nm-2 μm and is provided with a catalyst layer containing the purifying catalyst containing the catalyst powder consisting of the transition metal oxide sifted to the energy side lower than 531.3 eV of the binding energy of an electron of oxygen and an integral structure type carrier forming the catalyst layer on the inner surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
