PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of effectively removing a possibility of generation of a crack to a base part of a block and a possibility of tearing of the block by enhancing strength of the block while sufficiently ensuring water discharge performance of the tire. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes, on a tread step surface, a direction pattern in which a plurality of block rows are divided by a plurality of circumferential grooves 1, 2 continued in a tread circumferential direction and lateral grooves 6, 7 opened to the peripheral grooves 1, 2. In the block rows 9 adjacent to the circumferential groove 1, inclined surfaces 22 having gradually reduced height toward the circumferential groove 1 are provided on surfaces of the respective blocks 9a, and width of the inclined surface 22 is formed so as to be gradually increased from a step-in side S of the block 9a toward a kicking out side K. On a groove wall 1a of the circumferential groove 1, a groove wall inclined surface 24 continued to a side edge 23 of the inclined surface 22 and inclined relative to a non-inclined surface portion of the block 9a at a larger angle than the inclined surface 22 is provided.
