PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight engine having a balancer shaft capable of regulating displacement of the balancer shaft in an axial direction of the balancer shaft. SOLUTION: The engine 21 includes a crankcase 22, a crankshaft 23, the balancer shaft 33, a positioning member 35, and a fastening member 36. The crankshaft 23 is rotatably arranged in the crankcase 22. The balancer shaft 33 rotates along with the rotation of the crankshaft 23. The balancer shaft 33 has a flange part 33g. The flange part 33g extends outward in a radial direction. A guide groove 35c in which the flange part 33g slides is formed on the positioning member 35. The fastening member 36 fixes the positioning member 35 with respect to the crankcase 22. The fastening member 36 is arranged such that at least a part of the fastening member 36 overlaps the guide groove 35c when viewed from a fastening direction D of the fastening member 36.
