<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of creating face sequential compressed image data suitable for printing processing from point sequential image data suitable for color conversion processing by primary compressing before color conversion processing and secondary compressing after the color conversion processing, and capable of efficiently performing the compression. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processor includes a primary compressing means, a color conversion means, a separation means and a secondary compressing means. The primary compressing means detects a region composed of picture elements of an identical color among picture elements forming an input image data, and obtains a primary compressed data constituted of information on the profile and the color. The color conversion means obtains a color conversion image data, where color information at the primary compressed data is replaced with representation in an output color space. The separation means separates the color conversion image data according to color component. The secondary compressing means performs recompression for each color of the output color space.
