<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel reduced in distortion caused by heat treatment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bearing device includes a flange shaft 6 and a hub shaft as an inner ring integrally connected coaxially with each other, and an outer ring rotatably connected with these shafts via a plurality of balls. The flange shaft 6 has an annular track surface 18 subjected to surface-hardening treatment by heat-treating its peripheral surface. A part of the hub shaft is internally fitted in a through-hole 20, and a cylindrical end 26 as an abutment part arranged in the flange shaft 6 is made to abut on an annular step formed at the periphery of the hub shaft. The surface-hardening treatment by heat treatment is given to the abutment part 26, and in the flange shaft 6, the heat-treated and hardened region T4 of the abutment part 26 and the heat-treated and hardened region T2 of the track surface 18 are separated from each other.
