PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield member lifting device of a solar radiation shielding apparatus having a braking device which can reliably decelerates the lowering speed of a bottom rail near the lower limit position of the bottom rail and has superior durability. SOLUTION: This solar radiation shielding apparatus lifts up and down the bottom rail of a shield member by inserting the lifting cord into a bar suspended from a head box and pulling the lifting cord out of and into the head box through the bar. A braking body 12 which generates a braking force against the movement thereof relative to the bar 8 is movably supported on the bar 8. A projection 14 is provided to the lifting cord 9 led out of the bar 8. The projection 14 is engaged with the braking body 12 when the lifting cord 9 is pulled into the head box to decelerate the pull-in speed of the lifting cord 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
