摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of suppressing image irregularities resulting from static electricity. SOLUTION: In an in-plane switching type liquid crystal device 1 comprising a first substrate 10 having pixel electrodes 9 and common electrodes 19 which are provided on one surface thereof, a second substrate 20 disposed so as to face that surface of the first substrate 10, and a liquid crystal layer 50 sandwiched between the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20, a driving circuit and a wiring line electrically connected to the driving circuit are formed on the surface on the liquid crystal layer 50 side of the first substrate 10, a static electricity shielding layer 40 and an insulating layer 24 made of a resin material are formed in this order on the surface on the liquid crystal layer 50 side of the second substrate 20, the wiring line and the static electricity shielding layer 40 are electrically connected via a conduction material 43 formed in an exposure part 42 where the insulating layer 24 is removed on the outer circumferential side of a seal material 52 and the potential of the static electricity shielding layer 40 is controlled by the driving circuit in a prescribed potential.
