LYOTROPIC CHROMONIC LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: A lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal composition is provided to enhance the combining force between molecule aggregate and a liquid crystal dye, and to improve the mechanical strength and the insulation property of an optical film. CONSTITUTION: A lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal composition contains an acidic chromonic liquid crystalline compound including an acidic functional group and a basic monomer including a basic functional group. The acidic chromonic liquid crystalline compound is formed with a structure which the acidic functional group is surrounding a hydrophobic core composed of an aromatic molecule. The acidic functional group expresses an ion selected from the group consisting of a carboxylate ion, a phosphate ion, a sulfonic acid ion, by reacting with the acid monomer.
