<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus provided with an opening/closing detection mechanism that has a simple configuration, and reduces component parts and manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: a body 2; an imaging unit 9 removably installed on the body 2; a first opening/closing member 19 that is rotatable around a first shaft 20; and a second opening/closing member 28 that is rotatable around a second shaft 28a. The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with an opening/closing detection mechanism 25 that has an activating lever 23, elastic member 32, and safety switch 22. The activating lever 23 has a support point 26, a first arm 27 and a second arm 29. When the first opening/closing member 19 is closed in the status that the body 2 is equipped with the imaging unit 9 and the operating lever 23 is in the activating position, the first arm 27 is pressed and rotated toward the safety switch 22. When the second opening/closing member 28 is closed, the second arm 29 is pressed and rotated toward the safety switch 22, thereby turning on the safety switch 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
