OPTICAL MEMBER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member that improves the luminance and has high thermal resistance, and a liquid crystal display device having high luminance and long service life.

SOLUTION: This optical member for a display device includes a light diffusion plate and a polarizing lamination body containing a reflective polarizer. The light diffusion plate has an uneven region having an uneven structure in at least one effective region of the main surface. The light diffusion plate is in contact with the polarizing lamination body via a contact part on a projection of the uneven structure in the uneven region. The ratio of the area occupied by the contact part to the whole area of the uneven region is 10% to 60%. The liquid crystal display device has the optical member.
