<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine cooling control for reducing the overall power consumption of a system. <P>SOLUTION: The control method of a management computer connected to a server device which has a processor and a fan, and a cooling device includes: acquiring the temperature and operating rate of the processor, the rotating speed of the fan, and the temperature of air entering the server from the server; computing an estimated temperature of the processor which is a predetermined period later from the temperature and operating rate of the processor, the rotating speed of the fan, and the temperature of entering air; and determining a target rotating speed of the fan such that the estimated temperature which is the period later reaches a predetermined value when the estimated temperature is higher than the predetermined value, and instructing the server device to control the fan to the target rotating speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
