PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new kind of brush feed type hybrid excited motor the characteristics of which are easily controlled. SOLUTION: The brush feed type hybrid excited motor 1 includes a stator 2 and a rotor 3. In the stator, a plurality of permanent magnets 12, the magnets of which on one side are lined up on one side in its axial direction so that they may project axially from the disklike plane of a yoke 11, and a plurality of iron cores 13 are arranged alternately. The rotor includes an annular outer exciting coil 21 and an inner exciting coil 22, which are arranged outside and inside the permanent magnets 12 and the iron cores 13 and are wound in its circumferential direction and are used to generate and control magnetic flux coming via the iron cores 13, a plurality of armature cores 32b, in its circumferential direction where armature coils 33 arranged to axially face the permanent magnets 12 and the iron cores 13 are wound, and a commutator 34, into which a brush 16 installed in the stator 2 is brought into contact and which supplies the armature coil 33 with an armature current.
