PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor in which a brush stay having a plurality of brushes can be unfailingly fixed to a holder housing section. SOLUTION: An opening portion 15a of a gear case 15 is fixed on an opening portion of a bottomed cylindrical yoke for rotatably housing an armature. The opening portion 15a is formed in a bottomed cylinder, and a holder body 31 is housed in the opening portion 15a. The brush stay 32 is attached on the inside of the holder body 31, and three brush boxes are fixed on the brush stay 32. The brushes 35a, 35b, 35c are held so as to move forward and backward by the brush boxes respectively, and the three brushes 35a, 35b, 35c can slide on a commutator. Three screws 44a, 44b, 44c are arranged between the brush boxes adjacent to each other, and the brush stay 32 is fixed to the bottom of the opening 15a between each of the brushes with the screws 44a, 44b, 44c.
