<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high quality thin plate glass mold by using a direct pressing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the thin plate glass molding GC, molten glass MG is pressed between a pressing surface 331 and an installation surface 51 using an upper die 33 having the pressing surface 331 and a lower die 50 having the installation surface 51 arranged opposite the pressin surface 331. The pressing of the molten glass MG is performed so that the temperature (°C) of the thin plate glass mold GC has a glass transition point of Tg-20 or higher and lower than Tg within 0.8 second after the pressing is finished.
