PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article improving the liquid absorbing power into a lower layer side and the liquid retaining property while retaining the texture and the spread of liquid. SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes a front surface sheet, a rear surface sheet and an absorber disposed between the sheets. The absorber has a multilayered structure including an upper layer and a lower layer of both sides of the absorber folded and layered on each other along the longitudinal direction of the absorber.
