<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery apparatus for suspended matters and a surface layer liquid which can efficiently perform the recovery of a surface layer liquid including suspended matters in a surface layer, and has simplified structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The upper edge of a flexible member 3 which is telescopable up and down is provided with a suction port 10 with inner diameter set to be smaller than that of the flexible member 3, the lower part of a weir plate 1 provided around the outer circumference of the upper edge of the suction port 10 is provided with a float 2 causing the upper edge opening of the suction port 10 to locate at a position higher than the liquid face so as to prevent the flowing of the liquid into the suction port 10 when liquid inside the flexible member 3 is not sucked out, and a liquid made to flow into the flexible member 3 is sucked out by a suction tube 5 connected to the inside of the flexible member 3.
