<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nurse call slave unit with a function of issuing an alarm and giving a notice when the use of a broken sensor is set and making it be recognized that it can not be used, in the nurse call slave unit provided with a plurality of sensors for performing a calling operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The nurse call slave unit includes an inspection circuit 18a for inspecting whether or not the respective sensors 2a-2d are broken, a setting part 6 for selecting and setting the sensor to be turned to an active state, a speaker 5 for sounding alarm sound, and a sensor state display part 7 for displaying an inspected result. The inspection circuit 18a executes an inspection at every prescribed interval of time, the inspected result is displayed at the sensor state display part 7, and when the sensor determined to be broken is selected by the setting part 6 and when the sensor which is selected and turned to the active state breaks down, the alarm sound is sounded from the speaker 5.
