PURPOSE: A real-time virtual map matching method and a device thereof is provided to accurately confirm a current location by matching a map every 1/N seconds based on location information which is decided every 1 second. CONSTITUTION: A real-time virtual map matching method and a device thereof comprises: a position detecting unit(101) which confirms a current position of a real-time virtual map matching machine device in every fixed intervals ; a map matching unit(102) which matches the current position to a road information and generates map matching information; a virtual position detecting unit(105) which confirms a virtual position base on the map matching information and generates a virtual position in an unidentified period; and a virtual position information generating unit which saves a time which the virtual position information is generated.
