PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device with the same are provided to decrease the initial driving defects of a lamp. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of lamps(150) are installed at a fixed interval on a reflective sheet. A driving unit is arranged on the rear side of a bottom cover. An auxiliary light source(191) is mounted on the driving unit. The first hole(181) is formed in the bottom cover of an area corresponding to the auxiliary light source. The second hole is made of one of a plurality of micro holes and a plurality of slit holes of the reflective sheet of an area corresponding to the first hole.
