A technology for enhancing durability of an X-ray shielding curtain used in X-ray inspection system. An X-ray inspection system comprises a conveyor (22) for conveying an article (3) carried in from a carry-in opening (2a) to a carry-out opening (2b), an X-ray irradiation section (24) for irradiating the article (3) conveyed on the conveyor (22) with X rays (26), a line sensor (25) for detecting the X rays (26) from the X-ray irradiation section (24) transmitted through the article (3), and an X-ray shielding curtain (23) provided at the carry-in opening (2a) and the carry-out opening (2b). The X-ray shielding curtain (23) has a layer containing tungsten.
