The seat (1) has a base portion dimensioned for partially covering an edge of a lavatory bowl (2), and tabs (7) extending from both sides of the base portion. Negative housings forming female articulation portions are arranged in vertical side surfaces (4) of the bowl. Positive parts forming male articulation portions are projected from ends of the tabs. The positive parts are housed in the negative housings for forming a pivot articulation between the seat and the bowl, while assuring blocking of degrees of freedom of the seat with respect to the bowl. An independent claim is also included for a lavatory bowl cooperating with a lavatory seat.
