The device (1) has a frame (2) including a shredding/crushing case provided with a front face (5) and two cutting rotors (6) that assure a shredding/crushing action of plants along their determined active widths (L). The active widths of the rotors are separated from one another by an inter-rotor space (E). A complementary cutting tool (10) constituted of a cutting blade is arranged at the level of the front face of the case and in a lateral encumbrance of the space. The tool assures the shredding/crushing action along its active width (l) equal to width of the space.
