METHOD FOR IMPROVING STIFFNESS AND DUCTILITY OF BUILDINGS BY CONTROLLING THE FLEXURAL STRENGTH RATIO OF BEAM-TO-COLUMN NODES

PURPOSE: A rigidity and a ductility improving a method of a structure through adjustment of flexural strength ratio of a beam to column nodes are provided to improve the rigidity of the structure and to control the ductility at the same time. CONSTITUTION: An initial model of a designed target structure is decided through a structure analysis program. A variable value is initialized. A supply of the initial model is re-distributed through a unit weight method and a redistribution method. A rigidity and a ductility of the structure are controlled at the same time. A re-distributor method utilizes flexural strength ratio of a beam to column nodes. Strength conditions are considered. Performance of the structure is considered through non-linear static analysis.
