PATCH ENGINE

PURPOSE: A patch engine is provided to reduce the power consumption of the patch engine by supplying different voltages to first and second storage units. CONSTITUTION: A trace cache(10) includes first and second storage units. The first storage units store instruction traces for high power consumption, and the second storage units store the instruction traces for lower power consumption. When the instruction traces are outputted to a microprocessor, a DVFS(Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling) controller(20) controls the supply voltage for the instruction traces of the first and second storage units.
