<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge capable of increasing winding speed on a tape-winding body, while eliminating winding disorder of a tape which is a wound layer and protrusion of an edge though the upper and lower flanges of the tape winding body are omitted, and which is suitable for recording information signals of large capacity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tape cartridge includes the tape-winding body 2 winding a recording tape 3 in a disk shape and the rectangular box-shaped body case 1 housing the tape-winding body 2. The tape-winding body 2 includes a cylindrical body around the peripheral surface of which the recording tape 3 is wound. Regulation ribs 15 and 16 for preventing winding disorders of the tape-wound layer 12 and protrusion of the edge are provided on respective upper wall inner surface 17 and bottom wall inner surface 18 of the body case 1.
