<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform color display of high quality by a single plate type, and to achieve high definition in an electro-optical apparatus such as a liquid crystal device. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical apparatus includes: a pair of substrates (1, 2), a liquid crystal layer (4) including TN liquid crystal molecules; a first alignment layer (41) subjected to rubbing treatment in a first direction; a second alignment layer (42) subjected to rubbing treatment in a second direction; a light source (24) outputting light having a peak wavelength corresponding to a first color; and a color filter (13) where a color filter corresponding to a second color and a color filter corresponding to a third color are sequentially and repetitively arranged along the second direction. In the color filter, a first part being the TN liquid crystal layer corresponding to the first color is disposed, so that the domain may be made larger than in the second and the third parts respectively being the TN liquid crystal layer corresponding to the second and the third colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
